Meet our Staff
Dr Kate King
Dr Kate is crazy about cats and cat medicine and enjoys coaxing the best out of each and every feline she meets. She finds that gentleness and a knowledge of normal (and not so normal!) cat behaviour go a long way to gaining and keeping a cat's confidence - and solving their health problems.
She gained her membership in cat medicine chapter of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists after much study and three grueling examinations. She aims to make all the cats she cares for as comfortable and healthy as possible, no matter what their age.
Dr John Yang
John is crazy about cats and has gained his membership in cat medicine chapter of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists after studying at a high level. He moved up from the South Coast and left his favourite hobbies of snorkelling and scuba diving to indulge his love of cats.
John is fluent in Mandarin, enjoys playing badminton, reading and exploring the vastness of the interwebs.
Dr Georgia Knudsen
Georgia grew up loving cats. She followed that passion all the way to Sydney University where she completed her Veterinary Science degree in 2004. She has a great interest in cat medicine, cat behaviour and how cats interact with each other and with us. Georgia keeps busy looking after her three fur cat babies, son and partner but finds time to ski, read and catch up with friends.
Dr Kay Weller
Kay started work a week before she graduated and has been working in small animal practice ever since. She fulfilled a career goal by passing her Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists membership exams in feline medicine the same year as Dr Kate! She is delighted to have joined the wonderful team at CCV and very much enjoys meeting so many lovely new cat patients. At home she enjoys reading, knitting and yoga. Of course, her own two cats encourage her in this by sitting on her books, playing with the wool and showing off their own super flexible yoga poses...
Head Nurse Sally
In 2011 Sally decided to follow her passion for animals & make a career change, gaining her Cert 4 in Veterinary Nursing in 2012. Sally joined Canberra Cat Vet in 2014 as a part time nurse, splitting her time between CCV & our sister clinic Hall Veterinary Surgery. In April 2018 Sally joined CCV full time in the role of Head Nurse. Sally has always called herself a dog person, with a particular love for boxers (she has 2 boxer babies at home, Kirby & Georgie), but since starting at CCV she has been converted into a cat lover! During her time at CCV Sally has developed a real passion for feline nursing & has become an advocate for low stress cat handling techniques. She loves being able to contribute to our feline patients having an enjoyable and fear free experience when they visit the clinic.
Cassie is a qualified veterinary nurse and also works on reception. Euro came into her life after a bout in the wild and made herself completely at home.
In Cassie's spare time she helps at Pegasus riding for the disabled and has her black belt in Taekwondo.
Lisa is a receptionist and fully qualified nurse. Her warm Canadian voice will be the first thing you hear at the front desk or on the phone.
Lisa is a great tennis fan and always attends the Australian Open to cheer the Canadian players on. She also enjoys bachata dancing and yoga in her spare time. Her gorgeous Scottish Fold cat Hamish waits patiently at home for her for his cat cuddles.
Zara became a vet nurse in 2015 to fulfill her dream of helping animals. Zara is a self-confessed crazy cat lady and is interested in anything to do with cats. Her calm, gentle manner endears her to all our patients.
She shares her home with Mya, a thoroughly spoilt Domestic short hair cat, who loves food almost as much as Zara loves her. Outside of work Zara loves to read and cycle.
Trainee Nurse Susanna
Susanna grew up in a large family where she was one of seven siblings, so you can imagine that she feels right at home in our crazy team! Susanna has always had a love for all kinds of animals and is the lucky owner of a three year old Kelpie Cross called Indie and her horse Milo who is a 14 year old Clydesdale Cross mare. It is only too fitting that Susanna finds herself studying her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing as well as helping out on Reception at both Canberra Cat Vet and our sister clinic Hall Vet Surgery.
Chloe is our Receptionist - her face is the first you'll see at Canberra Cat Vet! She is passionate about cats, big and small. and loves all animals. At home she has two cats, Beanie and Felix, whom she adores. Chloe comes to Canberra Cat Vet with 3 years of experience in pet retail in Canberra, where she became knowledgeable in general behaviour, products, health and nutrition. Listen out for her friendly voice over the phone when you make your appointments. When not working, she enjoys reading, painting and drawing, reading, catching up on her favourite TV shows and more reading!
