Services

Canberra Cat Vet is cat-size and cat-wise! All our rooms, furniture and equipment are tailored to cat's unique qualities and requirements. Our services include:

  • Medical diagnostics. Is your cat vomiting, constipated, having trouble urinating, coughing, sneezing, panting, losing weight or harbouring any other strange complaint?  Dr Kate, a member of the feline medicine chapter of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists, and our team of veterinarians love investigating and helping cats recover from these internal conditions.
  • A fully equipped laboratory for doing blood, urine, cell and fecal tests on the premises so that we can diagnose and monitor common cat diseases within minutes
  • Kitten care and advice on diet, behaviour, environment, games, worming and vaccinations
  • Treatments for worms, fleas and other parasites
  • Preventative health care and health checks for all age cats
  • Vaccination review
  • Special care for elderly cats
  • A feline dental suite, including a dental X-ray unit, to diagnose and treat dental problems
  • cat-sized gas anesthetic machine, oxygen monitor and blood pressure monitor so that we can closely monitor and control your cat's anaesthetic at all times
  • glassed-in recovery ward so that we can monitor patients after surgery, oral treatments and procedures discreetly
  • An X-ray machine and ultrasound to visualise lungs, bones, bladders, intestines and other internal secrets
  • A separate operating theatre for desexing and major surgery
  • Behavioural advice from Dr Georgia for problems such as marking, urinating or defecating outside the litter box, aggression, anxiety and other worrisome behaviours
  • Supply of prescription and other good quality feline diets
  • Prescription of therapies tailored to cats' requirements - we minimise splitting or adaptation of human and dog drugs. If your cat is hard to pill or paste we prescribe easy to rub on the ear medications
